ATTORNEY PROFILE
Geil S. Bilu is a seasoned business attorney who has experience prosecuting, defending, and advising individuals and business owners alike in a wide range of legal issues. His primary areas of focus are real estate law, business law, and Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Geil has built a reputation in these complex areas, for skillfully representing his clients’ interests and providing personalized service every step of the way.
Geil earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Miami, graduating with a commendation of General Honors. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, which he attended on a merit scholarship award. He is a member of the Florida Bar, including the Real Estate and Young Lawyer’s Divisions. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Florida.
Through his career, Geil has built an impressive track record of success in negotiating and mediating real property disputes, helping distressed borrowers negotiate short sales with their lenders, and assisting hundreds of individuals and businesses across South Florida in bankruptcy proceedings. He also has experience prosecuting and defending dozens of commercial and residential evictions, breach of contract disputes, ejectment and trespass actions, and more.
Geil is a strong supporter of the American Land Title Association (ALTA) and has been an active Member Agent of the Attorney’s Title Insurance Fund since 2003. His views on the benefits of title insurance were even published in Forbes magazine in 2006. Geil’s results-oriented approach has resulted in successful outcomes both in highly complex and relatively straightforward legal matters for clients across his areas of practice.
In addition to his legal practice, Geil is heavily involved in the community. He sits on the Board of Trustees and is chairperson of the New Space Committee and co-chair of the Spiritual Life Committee of Congregation Shaarei Kodesh. He is on the Board of Trustees of the Palm Beach Chapter of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces, which provides social, medical, and financial support to members and veterans of the Israel Armed Forces.
Geil is happily married to his high school sweetheart, Layne, and they have three beautiful children. The family currently resides in Boca Raton.
